This Carrés Sauvages creation offers a smooth, rounded, and soothing taste experience, crafted on a white chocolate base and enriched with the highest quality Japanese Anatae matcha tea. Unlike typical white chocolate products, which are dominated by sweetness, the matcha here adds subtle herbal and slightly umami notes that balance the creaminess of the chocolate, giving the product character and freshness. The sugar content is deliberately reduced to just 20%, while the matcha concentration is as high as 4.5%, so the flavour remains distinct rather than masked by sweetness.
Japanese toasted rice (also used in genmaicha tea) adds a distinctive textural accent – it provides a light crunch and further highlights the subtle, delicate notes of the matcha.
